Overview:
District 24 - Tengah, Kranji, Lim Chu Kang, Sungei Gedong
Tengah is a new future HDB town, and one of Singapore’s emerging new townships as part of the Government’s plan to provide a greater supply of affordable housing, designed with the unique character of being a forest town.
Developed on what used to be an area primarily catered to military use, the new housing development plans have been announced – with re-development in the area already in the works, this will make Tengah Singapore’s newest entrant into the Housing and Development Board’s new township masterplan, since the development of Punggol in the 1990s.
Tengah will have an area of it, namely the southwestern region – earmarked as part of the upcoming Jurong Innovation District, a newer industrial development plan.

The demilitarisation of the Tengah area will usher in a new era of residential projects to the area. There will be a few different areas, namely the Plantation, park, Garden, market Place, Forest Hill and Brickland portions of Tengah. As part of HDB’s plan to supply well-designed affordable and sustainable homes to Singaporeans, the upcoming new forest town will be an iconic new standard in modern public housing, with its innovative and fresh ideas and bold designs.
Tengah is situation towards the Western part of Singapore, bounded by the Kranji Expressway, Pan island Expressway, Brickland Road and Bukit Batok Road. It is a key driving concept behind the inception of the area’s Forest Town HDB roadmap.
HDB’s vision is to have Tengah resplendent with rich nature and greenery, a place where residents can gain quality living and re-connect with nature and various green spaces.
